Beverly Woods School Events

Inclusion Week

Throughout the week, students explore topics on inclusion, learn about our Extensions classes and Bear Buddy program, hear from knowledgeable speakers and discuss these lessons with each other in an effort to build a truly inclusive BWE community. The week culminates in a Buddy Walk during which our Extensions students are celebrated by the entire school.

Cultural Arts Week

Cultural Arts Week is a very special opportunity to celebrate our student diversity and learn about each others’ various cultures. Some highlights of the week’s events include a multi-cultural staff potluck, the Drums4Life performance, and an invitation for students and their families to dress in their traditional cultural clothing.

Fun Day

Each Spring, students, teachers and parent volunteers gather outside for a great day of field events, fun games, and special attractions.

School Student Performances

Each year, First-, Third-, and Fifth-Grade students work hard to put on special musical performances for students, staff and parents.

Science Fair

Each year, future scientists and curious kids showcase their amazing work to fellow students, staff and volunteers at the BWE Science Fair. Students from all grades present models of their hypotheses and results from experiments conducted and recorded at home. Projects range from the study of gravity to the creation of the telegraph – the sky’s the limit!

Special Olympics

For this very special annual event, the BWE community sends off our Extensions students in style with a school-wide parade. Accompanied by their Bear Buddies, Extensions students attend the Special Olympics and compete for medals in walking, running and throwing events.

Read Across America

Each year, BWE takes a week to celebrate reading throughout our school, rallying support from the local community. Most recently, the South Meck High School basketball team visited our Kindergarten, First, and Second grade classes to read books to students. In honor of the week, BWE first graders dress up as their favorite book characters and participate in a parade for the rest of the school.

Book Fair

Each Fall and Spring, BWE holds a week-long book fair that students can attend during school. Both weeks also feature a family night, so families can shop together for books after school hours.

Carmel Day

In preparation for the transition to Carmel Middle School, Carmel students and staff visit BWE 5th graders to introduce themselves and talk about what they can expect in the next school year.

Staff Appreciation Week

We LOVE our BWE staff!
