Volunteer
One of the best ways to enhance your child’s educational experience is to get involved! There are numerous opportunities to help before, during, or after school as well as in the comfort of your own home.
CMS requires that ALL volunteers register and get approved by the school system in order to be a volunteer at any CMS school. The process is quite simple and takes just a few minutes of your time.

- Go to www.cmsvolunteers.com
- Click the new volunteers tab and follow the instructions.
- Make sure to add Beverly Woods Elementary to your volunteer school list!
- If you were registered last year, you do not need to register again, but you do need to update your registration each year.
Committee Volunteer Opportunities

BEAUTIFICATION
Help maintain and improve the school grounds by participating in campus clean-up days. Volunteer times are usually on the weekends.
BINGO NIGHT
Help set up for the event, distribute prizes, sell bingo cards and clean up after the event. Held in early October.
BOOK FAIR
Assist with book sales during Fall and Spring book fairs.
CHARACTER EDUCATION
Assist with character education initiatives throughout the school-year.
COMMUNICATIONS
Assist with social media, website, marquee, and bulletin boards.
CUB CLUB
Parent mentors visit with their student buddies each week, playing games and building rapport.
CULTURAL ARTS
Be a part of highlighting and celebrating different cultures at BWE.
DADS GROUP
For dads who wish to pitch in as needed (moving furniture, directing traffic, handyman jobs, etc.).
EOG PROCTORS
Parent volunteers needed to proctor End of Grade testing in May for 3rd-5th grade.
FUN DAY
Help plan our annual Fun Day event where our students participate in outdoor games, activities and treats.
FUNDRAISING
Help coordinate the annual gift-giving campaign, culminating in our Color Fun(d) Run. Assist in the procurement and maintenance of corporate sponsorships.
HOSPITALITY
Help plan for and serve at monthly staff appreciation events.
INCLUSION WEEK
Assist during Inclusion Week in the planning, set-up, implementation, and clean-up of events.
MEDIA CENTER
Assist with shelving, checkout, and/or book displays.
NEWCOMERS COMMITTEE
Assist with Open Houses, School Tours, Beginner’s Day, and Party on the Playground.
SCIENCE FAIR
Help to secure judges for the Science Fair. Assist on the day of the fair by escorting students, entering scores, and helping with awards.
SPIRIT WEAR
Help sell and distribute BWE spirit wear and merchandise.
STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK
Help plan and attend staff appreciation week events. This event occurs in the spring and is a week-long celebration of the BWE staff.
STUDENT COUNCIL
Help guide our newly formed Student Council in planning elections, determining an agenda for the school year and implementing proposed improvements or service projects.
SWEETHEART DANCE
Help plan, decorate, staff, and clean up this event for BWE families.
